Safety
For a wide range of products, including machinery, electronics, medical devices, radio, and telecommunications equipment, most major world markets require compliance with essential health and safety requirements. In the United States, OSHA, and the FDA, etc. regulates safety requirements for different types of products. All companies selling their products in the European Union (EU) market have to meet CE mark requirements that include the EU safety requirements. In the US, safety product testing and safety standards development electronic products, medical devices, and machine equipment has been traditionally been managed by Underwriters Laboratories, a not for profit organization in close collaboration with international institutions such as the International Electrotechnical Organization (IEC).

RTL provides safety testing to the following standards:

• UL 60950, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No 60950-00 and EN 60950: Safety for Information Technology Equipment

• UL 3101-1, EN 61010-1: Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use

• UL 2601-1, EN 60601-1-1: Safety Requirements for Medical Equipment GR-1089-CORE: Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electrical Safety for Network Telecommunication Equipment

UL/CSA WITNESS PROGRAM: RTL participates in the UL/CSA witness program: RTL performs safety per "UL" and "CSA" standards that is witnessed by UL and CSA representatives. The test results with applicable country specific safety standard deviation are recognized not only in the USA and Canada, but also in many other countries in Europe and Asia, as well as Australia.
